Manual Title :
Air Force Continuing Airworthiness Manual (AFCAMAN)
Book Title :
Book I - AFCAMAN Introduction
Chapter Title :
Chapter 1 - Introduction to the Air Force Continuing Airworthiness Manual (AFCAMAN)
Paragraph :
N/A, PDF update process.
Summary of deficiency, proposed amendment and justification :
From correspondence I've seen, I understand that the complete PDF version of the AFCAMAN will have a new Objective ID for each new version published/released. Objective functionality is based on the maintenance of one document master that is continually updated with the latest version. All previous versions (draft and published/Word and PDF) may be accessed by anyone with access to the document. Edit privileges limited by Work Group, obviously. We (and I'm assuming, numerous FEGs) use Objective links to the PDF version. If the OBJ ID is constantly changing, the result is multiple organisations having to update their links to the AFCAMAN in large numbers of documents (i.e. MOE, Standing Instructions etc).
Admin Comments :
30/07/21 - Objective ID with all users privileges will be used that will not change. Updated AFCAMAN versions will be placed on top of previous versions allowing referencing to the Objective location to always remain the same.
